Cybersecurity Leaders Roundtable

Erik Decker is the Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer for the University of Chicago Medicine. He is the industry lead for the development of the Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP) publication, under the CSA 405(d) Task Group. This task group is co-sponsored with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and has membership of more than 250 industry experts. He is also a member of the Health Sector Coordinating Council, a joint public-private partnership group tasked with protecting Critical Infrastructure, as defined under the National Infrastructure Protection Plan.

Omar Khawaja is vice president and CISO for Highmark Health, a national health and wellness organization and the second largest integrated financing and delivery network by revenue in the United States. Omar has spent 15+ years delivering, developing and managing security solutions for startups, service providers, consulting firms and enterprises. In his current role, he oversees information security and risk management for the Highmark Health portfolio of leading health care businesses that employ more than 40,000 people and serve millions of Americans in 50 states. Prior to joining Highmark Health, Omar was with Verizon Enterprise Solutions, where he was responsible for their portfolio of security solutions with customers in 72 countries.

Omar currently serves on the boards of the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) and Action Housing Network; on the governing body of Evanta; on the CISO Workgroup of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association; as adjunct faculty member for the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) program at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh; and on boards of advisors for several security firms.

Lucia Milică currently serves as Resident Chief Information Security Officer at Proofpoint. She is a senior technology leader with over 20 years of technical and business experience. In her previous role, Lucia was the VP, Chief Information Security Officer & Chief Privacy Officer for Polycom, responsible for all aspects of data privacy and information security. Previously she held leadership and technical roles in IT governance & strategy, security risk and compliance, corporate and product security, data privacy, and IT infrastructure at companies including Polycom, HP, Palm, Wells Fargo, Franklin Templeton.

Lucia also serves as an advisor on the board of University Of Colorado, School of Business’s Center for Information Technology Innovation and holds a Master in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate.
